HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF COMPUTER


The computer we use today is the result of many decades and hundreds of scientists' efforts. Let's have a look at the history of computer development. This post is about the years 1661 to 1970.


1961


According to Datamation magazine, a computer company called the International Business Machine ie IBM had captured 81.2 per share of the market, and in the same year, IBM launched 14 hundred series computers.


1964


This year a supercomputer named CDC 66 hundred was designed by SeymourCre. This supercomputer was equipped with the ability to execute three million instructions in a second and its processing speed was three times higher than its nearest computer.


This year, a company called IBM announced the launch of a computer family called System 360. This computer had the capability to work together with forty accessories. In the same year, IBM set up a system called Share Reservation System and Reservation for American Airlines for online transaction processing.


1965


A company called Digital Equipment Corporation, abbreviated as DEC, introduced the first commercial mini-computer market called PDP-8 which was successfully used.


1966


This year, a company called Helvet Packard ie HP entered the business of General Purpose Computer and launched a computer called HP 2115.


1970


This year, there was more emphasis on computer-to-computer communication, and Arpanet was set up by the Department of Defense Space. Which we know today as the Internet. In this, Centabarra and La Center Universities, which are under the California University of California, contributed a lot.
