EVOLUTION OF COMPUTER
The computer we use today is the result of many decades and hundreds of scientists' efforts. Let's have a look at the history of computer development. This post is about the years 1991 to 2000.
1993
This year Intel launched its Pentium ie P-5 processor in the market. Simultaneously Intel also launched the motherboard chipset which was the first motherboard made by them.
1995
This year Intel made the Pentium Pro processor. Which is the first P-6 processor family processor. In 1995, Microsoft released Windows 95. It was the first mainstream 32-bit operating system.
1997
Registers the Pentium-2 processor in the market this year. It was actually a combination of Pentium Pro and MMX technology. In 1997, the company named MD launched a processor called K-6 which was equivalent to P-5 and was very low in price.
1998
This year, Windows 98 was launched as a full operating system by Microsoft Corporation. In the same year, Intel launched a Celeron processor which was low priced in the market. This processor was actually a form of a -2 processor in which the amount of cache memory called L-2 was reduced.
1999
This year Intel released the Pentium-3 processor to the market. This processor was equipped with Pentium-2 and streaming SIMD extension technology. In 1999, AMD launched its Athlon processor in the market.
2000
This year Microsoft launched Windows ME in the market. This was the Millennium Edition of Windows, also known as Windows 2000. In the same year, Intel and AMD developed processors operating at a speed of one GHz. In the same year, a company called AMD also launched a processor called Duron.
So this was the development sequence of computers being used today. In the next chapters, you will study the elements of the computer with which it is made.
