In this post, we will know what a Mailing label and how to create it.


Mailing Label


We can create mailing labels inside MS Word just like Form Letter. Word allows us to create special mailing labels such as A very, HP, Macro, etc.


How to Create Mailing Labels


The following steps are followed to create Labels-


Step 1 -: First let's do New Document Create, then select the Mail Merge Option from the Tools menu, which will display the Mail Merge Dialog box.

Step 2 -: Click on Create, select Mailing Labels from the drop-down list.

Step 3 -: In Word, we will get a Query Window in which we will be asked to make Mailing Labels in Active Window or in a new window? We select Active Window.


Step 4 -: Before creating a Mailing Label, we have to create or specify a file, because we have to use Fields from it to create Data Mailing Labels. 


We will see the Mail Merge Helper again - Prompt above it indicating that the next step or step is to select the data source, then click on Get Data and select Create Data Source from the drop-down list. |


Step 5 -: If we select Create Data Source, then the data source is created according to the method described in “Merging Mailing List with from letter”. When we have decided to add the records, then click on OK. 


We will return to the empty Mailing Label Main Form and the Mail Merge ToolBar will also be visible. To create the malting label, click on the Mail Merge Helper button. The Mail Merge helper dialog box will be displayed. Let us select the setup. Label option Dialog box will appear.


Step 6 -: If we choose Open Data Source as an option, then after choosing Open Data Source, you should set up the Main Document. When we select this option, we will see the Label Options Dialog box.


Step 7-: Select the Labels to be used by selecting Correct Label Products. Then select the Product Number for the selected Labels.


Step 8 -: Click on the OK button, the create Labels dialog box will be displayed.


Step 9 -: Input the Merge File into Labels and select Insert Merge. If necessary, add Spaces, Punctuation, and lines.


Step 10 -: After selecting the files of your choice, click on OK, then we will come to the Mail Merge Helper Dialog box.


Step 11 -: If you choose to Merge to operate Merge, then Merge Dialog Box Show will be done.


Step 12 -: Set the Merge option as per your requirement, then choose Merge. Word will merge the Mailing Labels and Mailing List and send the result to New Document, Pointer, etc.
