The island is forbidden to enter an area of ​​10 kilometres.


4. To date the Government of India also does not have the correct data for the calculation of the people of the Sentinelis tribe. Just according to an official census of 2001, there were 40 men including 21 men and 18 women on the island and now it is believed that 400 to 500 people of this tribe will be present on this island.

According to Triloknath Pandit, an Indian anthropologist who has contact with the people of the Sentinelis tribe, these people do not marry among themselves, nor do they have ahead of the group and the children of the tribe start to stand on their feet. Training is made to make arrows, spears, baskets, huts etc. so that they grow up to become skilled and get respect.


9. The people of the Sentinelis tribe have great faith in ghosts and various old practices, due to which they resort to worship and herbs in sickness etc. and if someone dies in a hut, then They do not go to the hut and live.

The people of the Sentinelis tribe have so far attacked and killed many people from outside with arrows and weapons, the biggest evidence of which is the murder of a 26-year-old American missionary, John Allen Chow, in November 2018. 11. In 1991, for the first time, a team of Indian anthropologists had peaceful contact with the people of the Sentinelis tribe in the presence of Dr Madhumala Chattopadhyay, an expert of the Andaman-Nicobar people, whom the Sentinelies did not consider themselves a threat.
